Cute Vintage Boy’s Bedroom
This project in Elkins Park, PA in the suburbs of Philadelphia created a big-boy room for a growing boy that is neutral and calm, but still young and fun and meant to grow with him. Lots of baby animals and vintage touches were the perfect design elements for a sweet room for a growing preschooler. The color palette is neutral with a fresh light blue-grey in the walls and anchored with a graphic black and white plaid rug. The architectural charm of the room shines through and the design includes a vintage bed painted in a blue green color with subtle blue and white bedding to add texture and comfort. The warm woods in the bookshelf and chair and bring in texture and contrast. And the grouping of baby animal prints are a sweet addition and the mixing in the lion head wall art adds a dash of wimsy in the grouping.
The room is small and is filled with smart storage to hold books, toys and the favorite legos within arms reach but easily put away and organized in baskets when tidying up the space. Lots of book storage is included in the small bookshelf that also acts as a nightstand, and hooks are hung low on the back of the door for easy access during super-hero dress up sessions.
A comfy reading chair with a modern silhouette and a soft vintage pillow provide a perfect reading nook in the large bay window with easy access to the bookshelf. Sleek roller blinds in a darker gray bring in some contrast and darken the room for sleep time.
Overall, this adorable bedroom for a sweet preschooler packs a big punch in a small space.
